Some plant oils can be problematic for cats, particularly wintergreen oil. Cats don’t metabolize essential oils the way humans and other mammals do. Using the products judiciously according to the product label should not cause a problem in most circumstances. However, never directly spray cats with plant oil-based products and do not apply them to areas where cats frequent, particularly if they contain wintergreen. If you have a cat with poor health status, we do not recommend using a product containing wintergreen.
